-praca w PRL-u
ETOBSYSTEM w pochodzie 1-majowym 1976 roku
W końcu lat pięćdziesiątych i w latach sześćdziesiątych pracowałem na budowach i w biurach projektów, jako przeciętny inżynier budowlany.
Może jedynie należało by wyróżnić ciekawą pracę w PKZ-tach, na budowie rezydencji ambasadora Wielkiej Brytanii i przy odbudowie Zamku Królewskiego w Warszawie. A w biurach projektów jako konstruktor projektowałem ciekawe obiekty dla zakładów zbrojeniowych w Wietnamie i dla wszystkich w kraju zakładów farmaceutycznych. Specjalizowałem się w projektowaniu konstrukcji stalowych. Kierowałem też przygotowaniem produkcji w dużym przedsiębiorstwie budownictwa przemysłowego koło Warszawy.. To wszystko jednak było mało ciekawe i nie przynosiło mi satysfakcji zawodowej, ani finansowej. Były to dla mnie nieciekawe czasy.

Pionierzy odbudowy przed ruinami Zamku Królewskiego
współprojektowałem reklamę neonową baru Praha w Alejach Jerozolimskich
Przy końcu 1969 roku zupełnie przypadkowo znalazłem się w małej pracowni projektowania organizacji budowy SYSTEM, gdzie pracowało kilku ciekawych inżynierów tej specjalności. Właśnie tu trafiłem do zespołu Andrzeja Zienkiewicza, tytana pracy, pasjonata komputerów i nowoczesnych metod zarządzania. Zostałem na wiele lat jego bardzo bliskim współpracownikiem , a w zasadzie „prawą ręką”. A ponieważ przy sterze władzy w kraju znalazł się tow. Edward Gierek, otworzyły się możliwości wprowadzania nowoczesnych technik zarządzania. Nie mieliśmy już problemów z próbą zastosowania metod sieciowych nazywanych wówczas metodą PERT, do opracowania harmonogramów skomplikowanych robót na duże place budów w kraju. Opracowaliśmy wtedy system informatyczny dla sterowania dużą budową PROKOR, bardzo popularny i stosowany na dziesiątkach inwestycji. Sukces tego systemu spowodował to, że powierzono nam obsługę dużego centralnego systemu kontroli inwestycji szczególnie ważnych dla gospodarki (ponad 300 wielkich budów socjalizmu) pod nazwą WEKTOR.
Powstała wtedy pracownia projektów i doradztwa organizacyjnego w budownictwie ETOBSYSTEM do wdrażania tego systemu. Staliśmy się wówczas najważniejszym ośrodkiem zastosowań informatyki w kraju Od połowy lat siedemdziesiątych obsługiwaliśmy również duży centralny system bilansowania zapotrzebowania na roboty budowlano-montażowe z możliwościami wykonawców pod nazwą AWIZO-MOC.

Pierwszy zespół obsługi systemu AWIZO-MOC
Wszystkie te systemy informatyczne wspomagane były obliczeniami na pierwszych w kraju komputerach (ZAM-21 ALFA i ODRA-1304, potem 1305), a wszystkimi wdrożeniami i obsługą kierowałem osobiście, przez cały okres lat siedemdziesiątych, podróżując wiele po kraju fiatami 125 P. Brałem też udział w dziesiątkach konferencji poświęconych tym zagadnieniom, objeździłem wszystkie stolice krajów RWPG, biorąc udział we współpracy z „ bratnimi krajami”. Pozwolono mi nawet wygłosić referat na konferencji naukowej w Londynie na temat zastosowań metod sieciowych do organizacji wielkich budów (rok 1972 !).
Z perspektywy czasu wydaje się , że te lata siedemdziesiąte były latami ciekawymi i pięknymi. Pięknymi, chyba dlatego, że po prostu byłem wtedy dużo młodszy…
